FUNimation Entertainment Acquires Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone from NTV
Flower Mound, TX – December 31, 2008 – FUNimation® Entertainment today announced that it has acquired the home entertainment, broadcast, digital, mobile and merchandise rights to the film Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone from NTV.
The animated sci-fi action movie is the first of four based on the anime television series Neon Genesis Evangelion broadcast nationally on the TV Tokyo network in the 1990's. In the story, a 14 year old boy rides on a huge humanoid robot - an Evangelion - to fight against numerous hostile elements that attack in succession.
Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone is directed by series veterans Hideaki Anno, Masayuki and Kazuya Tsurumaki and produced by Studio Khara.
About Evangelion 1.0
Schoolboy Shinji Ikari is summoned by his estranged father to the vast city of Tokyo-3, however the tearful reunion he was hoping for does not materialise as his father has a far more nefarious reason for wanting his son by his side again. Led down into the underground labyrinth of NERV headquarters, he learns that he is one of only a few children that can pilot one of the enormous Evangelion robots against a terrifying enemy.
As Shinji was being transported to Tokyo-3, it was under attack from the terrifying Angels, creatures of an unknown origin bent on penetrating the city and laying waste to anything they find. Throwing caution to the wind to save an injured girl, Shinji boards one of the massive robots and is launched to his destiny. However there are greater forces at work behind the scenes, and is the true enemy the angels, NERV, the mysterious SEELE, or the demons held within the hearts of the people involved?
The dramatic thriller received Animation of the Year and Best Director Award at Tokyo International Fair in 2007.
FUNimation Entertainment will release the film in 2009. Please visit www.funimation.com/evangelion to see the Japanese trailer.
FUNimation Entertainment Acquires Soul Eater from Media FActory
Flower Mound, TX – December 31, 2008 – FUNimation® Entertainment today announced that it has acquired home entertainment, broadcast, digital, mobile and merchandise rights to the 51-episode action anime series Soul Eater from Media Factory.
The soul-hunting action series is directed by Takuya Igarashi (Ouran High School Host Club).
About Soul Eater
Unapologetically surreal and action-packed, Soul Eater is the tale of living weapons who team with human masters to hunt evil souls. Only after these dark forces are consumed can these partners hope to join the ranks of the famed Death Scythes.
Maka and her weapon, Soul, are among the new students at a university run by Death himself. As they learn the ways of collecting souls, this fresh class of reapers must work together to keep witches, werewolves, and zombies from unleashing evil upon the world.
FUNimation Entertainment will release the series in four half-season sets beginning in late 2009. Please visit www.funimation.com/souleater to see the Japanese trailer.

PS3 Conspiracy???
Ok, for the past year i have seen nothing but articles from sites from top Video game sites bashing the PS3. I know it's not a conspiracy but it seems that everyone is supporting Microsoft who has been selling faulty units since the release of the 360. Sure the PS3 is expensive and Sony does need a price drop soon, but the PS3 seems to be built to last. But if you buy a Microsoft XBOX 360 Arcade (hopefully a new Jasper Model they are out now), you spend $200 for the system, another $100 for the harddrive, another $100 for WiFi, and another $50 for 1 year of live, thats $450. So how is that cheaper than a PS3. Still if you buy a Pro or elite you still spend $350 for the Pro (thats with wifi and live) and $550 for the Elite (with Wifi & Live). Where as the PS3 40 Gig and 80 Gig are $399 and the 160 GB is $499 and thats with Wifi and free Online out of the Box. So which one would you choose? Me i would choose the PS3, but it doesn't matter most exclusives for each system are not worth playing and games are always going Multi-Platform anyway. So all in go for which ever you like thats the way to do it. But the point is also is Microsoft paying websites and other magazines to bash the PS3? Like i said it's just a conspiracy theory like who shot JFK and Roswell Coverup. So thats my rant, feel free to bash me for this.
